In April 2018 Chrome released an update which blocks the autoplay function for videos on your websites.

The way around this block - is to mute your videos.

In order for Chrome to know that your video is muted, it must be written within the code of your video element.

We are currently updating the Video Element to add a mute function, in the meantime there is another solution via our HTML Element.

Embed your YouTube Video

  1. On your computer, go to the YouTube video you want to embed
  2. Under the video, click Share
  3. Click Embed
  4. From the box that appears, copy the HTML code
  5. Add &mute=1 to the end of the YouTube source link in your code to mute the video
  6. Paste the code into your Webydo HTML Element

Your code will look something like this:

<iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qR4QLC8zxng?rel=0&amp;autoplay=1&mute=1" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

To edit the width or height of your video - adjust the width and height inputs within the code. To set it full width - make them each 100%

Default

width="560" height="315"

Full Width

width="100%" height="100%"

Embed your Vimeo Video

  1. On your computer, go to your Vimeo account and find your video
  2. Click the Share button
  3. Click the + Show Options links that appears above the embed code field to reveal a preview of your embedded video
  4. Make any adjustments you need
  5. Copy the embed code
  6. Add ?background=1 to the end of your Vimeo source link in your code to mute the video
  7. Paste the code into your Webydo HTML Element

Your code will look something like this:

<iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/76979871?background=1"
    width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen
    mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

To edit the width or height of your video - adjust the width and height inputs within the code. To set it full width - make them each 100%

Default

width="500" height="281"

Full Width

width="100%" height="100%"
